Twitch doesn't show creation dates on profiles anymore, so here are the ways that still work:

Why check a Twitch account's age?
Account age separates real viewers from bot armies. Follow-bot waves, ban evaders and view-bot accounts are overwhelmingly days old, so moderators routinely age-check suspicious chatters before handing out timeouts or approving VIPs. Age also matters for streamers themselves: knowing exactly how long you've been on Twitch β to the day β is a milestone stat worth sharing, and a quick way to verify that a 'veteran streamer' claiming 2014 roots actually has them.
Where does the creation date come from?
Twitch removed the visible join date from public profiles years ago, but the official Helix API still returns the exact created_at timestamp for every account. This Twitch account age checker queries that API directly, so the date you see is Twitch's own record β accurate to the second, for any account from 2011 to today.
Twitch API limits and honest failure cases
This is a server-side API lookup, so it follows the site's 5 free checks per 12-hour window. The lookup can fail if Twitch API credentials are missing, rate limits are hit, or the account is banned, deleted, renamed or otherwise not returned by Helix. A failed lookup is not proof that a channel is fake; it means the public API did not return usable data at that moment.
No gray Twitch data provider is used
This page does not use unofficial Twitch scraping or a third-party database for the creation date. If a fallback provider is ever added, it must be labeled separately as third-party, non-official and potentially less reliable than the official Helix response.

Does it work for banned accounts?
No β when Twitch bans an account, the API stops returning its data. If a lookup fails on a name you know exists, a ban is the usual reason.
